APW - Illinois, Sangamo marked "Special," 21J, 16S, gold-filled OF recase, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, two-tone gilt and nickel damascene, gilt mvt screws and regulator assembly, s#1899861. A rare and beautiful movement that is marked "Special" to its train bridge and features an unusual two-tone finish that is primarily gold in color.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, good two-tone color, winding wheel with scattered fine to micro-fine scratches and some mild patches of oxide; dial with few scattered light hls, perimeter scrape under bezel; excellent hands; case shows little wear, very subtle shallow compression type dent to upper-left of rear center evident as mild ripple of reflected light, some scattered small nicks, setting lever slot has been enlarged; tight bow, crown shows light wear; glass crystal with few small fine scratches.
